If you deregistered before the university academic year began, you generally still qualify for NSFAS funding, as they usually do not count such deregistration as a year funded. This means when you reapply for university, NSFAS can consider providing you with financial support, as long as you meet their funding criteria.
Make sure to apply for NSFAS funding for the next academic year by completing the application on their official website. Keep an eye on the deadlines and ensure that all your details and documents are up to date. Since you are upgrading your matric results, ensure that you meet the minimum requirements for the course and university you wish to attend.
